As expected, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has claimed the top of the weekend box office. The sequel to one of the highest-grossing films of all time, it debuted to the tune of $181.3 million at the domestic box office and $150 internationally for a global total of $330 million. That marks the third highest opening during the pandemic era.
Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile climbed back into the top five, settling into fourth place with another $3.2 million. It now has a total take of $40.8 million since its debut in theaters on October 7, 2022.
Rounding out the top five was the horror movie Smile, which earned an extra $2.3 million in its seventh weekend for a total of $102.8 million. ~Alexandra Heilbron
