Refillable popcorn, cheap tix!
October 11, 2019
Yes it's a cheap theatre, but realized the concessions area and machines are actually cleaned each night. Other bigger theatres don't Love the prices and refills! Great for family outing on budget.

My girlfriend and I usually come here once a month. Great prices, friendly staff, clean theatre. The free refills on large drinks and large popcorn are a really good deal, especially on Tuesdays
If you want a perfectly polished experience go elsewhere

I've been going to this theater for as long as I can remember. I'm 45 now and started going downtown around the age of 12 or 13 to watch movies. It has outlived the Northstar, Portage Place and I think a theater once in Eaton's Place. And I keep coming back. Never had an issue. Maybe construction or a pan handler now and again. Parking sucks but you find it. Staff is usually great to deal with. I don't know them by name but I'm comfortable in knowing many have been there a long time. Its rough around the edges, grungy but it has plenty of personality. Creepily comfortable.

since they raised their ticket prices we have stayed away' FOR AN EXTRA 2 bucks not worth the drive downtown, they had agood thing going there should have just raised popcorn prices' best popcorn deal in the city = we used to be regular patrons/
Can't Beat the Price, Staff and Lack of Crowds!

The Towne isn't the most up-to-date theatre, and it's not in the most accessible part of town, but bargain ticket prices and lack of crowds make it more than worth it. Two people can see the new Marvel movie for less than you'd pay for one ticket at Polo Park, and there's rarely more than 50 people in a theater, even for a big opening. The staff is also very friendly, and the concessions are good -- their root beer just tastes better for some reason. No, really! Just suck it up and go!

Awesome stuff and very friendly and nice, been going there for years. Love the free refills on extra larges.
Old, Grungy, and Fun - Great Staff!

The staff here really is the best, more smiles and service than you'll get in any other theatre. I feel it's worth going here just to make sure they keep getting their paycheques. But yeah - the building is a blast from the past, partly in an interesting way and partly in a I-don't-want-to-touch-anything way. (Try to use a washroom before/after visiting this place.) But when most theatres are so generic, it's a bit of fun to be somewhere different.

If you want to take home a little friend for you and your family to enjoy, this is the place. Many people complain about getting that dreaded "itch" feeling while trying to watch the movies we PAY for. That being said, this is a hot spot for bed bugs and if you want them this is the place!!!
If you like to talk loudly during a movie go here! I’m

The last 3 movies I saw here people were talking very loudly through out the movie and staff did nothing to stop it even after I brought it to their attention.
too sketchy and lots of homeless people
September 08, 2015
Lots of homeless people around the building of the movie theater. It's filthy. The washrooms are a mess. No toilet paper and they aren't clean to say the least. The parking situation is bad. People have to park by the church next door but then we came one time to find out from other car drivers who went to the theatre that their vehicles were broken into. Too many sketchy and sleazy people walking around and I didn't feel safe there.
